Our tours will take you to undiscovered places which evoke a bygone era and expose you to what has made Tuscany an incomparable destination!

Tour 1

The quality of Tuscan cuisine is one of the main reasons that it is the destination of choice for foodies from around the world. We offer a visit to a local cheese maker who makes some of the finest cheese in Tuscany. You will be able to see the cheese making process, including the aging process, surface treatment and packaging followed by a tasting of six different types of cheeses. These include soft cheese semi-aged, aged and with aromatics accompanied by olives, jams, mustards, cold cuts and fresh ricotta with honey.

                                   


Tour 2

Wine tasting at a prestigious local winery on their magnificent terrace overlooking 70 hectares of vines.







Tour 3

Tours to a variety of lesser known but nonetheless magnificent local places with something for everyone, the beauty of the countryside as you wind your way through the narrow country roads for those who love the outdoors, to steep hillsides and underground caves for the more adventuresome. For the art and history lovers we can plan a visit to historic villas, medieval villages, famous museums and other cultural places of interest.  We conclude the day with a visit to a restaurant featuring one of the quintessential Tuscan dishes,  bistecca  Fiorentina ( a 2-3 inch T-Bone steak)!





Tour 4


 

A day at the beach! We arrange a day at one of the local beach clubs where you will find white sandy beaches and crystal blue waters. The price includes lounge chairs and a beach umbrella right by the water as well as a parking space.

Tour 5 - Complete Week




For those who prefer to have everything planned for them this is the tour for you! A full week planned out with maximum attention to detail.


Day 1:              Transportation from the airport/train station to Casa Francia. Welcome dinner upon arrival.


Day 2:              Wake up to a scrumptious continental breakfast comprised of coffee, juice, croissants, cookies and homemade cakes and jams. Then off to visit the splendid Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa with its magnificent leaning tower and cathedral. In the afternoon we will travel to the historic city of Lucca, the only city in the world completely surrounded by a medieval wall. There you will see the Giunigi Tower, Piazza Anfiteatro and the Cathedral of San Martino. Then back to Casa Francia for a dinner alfresco on the magnificent terrace where you will experience traditional Tuscan country cooking.

Day 3:              After breakfast experience a pleasant morning in the surrounding woods for a truffle hunt. Conducted by an experienced truffle dog hunter and trainer who has won numerous competitions. Some down time in the afternoon for lounging around the pool and finally dinner at a local restaurant in Palaia.

 

Day 4:              This day will be dedicated to wine! After breakfast off to the Val D’orcia home to two villages most famous for their prized wines, Montalcino and Montepulciano. The day includes wine tasting in one of the oldest wineries in Motepulciano. Back to Casa Francia for dinner.

 

Day 5:              Another active day where you can experience either horseback riding or walks to explore the local countryside and its many historical villages. The afternoon is open for whatever you desire. Dinner at a local restaurant.

 

Day 6:              An all day visit to Florence, the provincial capital of Tuscany, cradle of the Renaissance and home to many famous artists and poets. Wander the historic streets and see the magnificent Cathedral with its famous Brunelleschi Cupola and Piazza della Signoria as well as some of the finest shopping in the world. Florence is the home of numerous famous museums such as the Uffizi and we can include a visit to any museum requested. Dinner back at Casa Francia.

 

Day 7:              The next must see cities are Siena and the ancient village of San Gimignano  known as the Town of Fine Towers and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In Siena we will visit Piazza del Campo where the famous medieval horse race, the Palio is conducted every year, the Torre del Mangia and the Cathedral. On the way back cocktails and dinner at a typical Tuscan Agriturismo (working farm) in the countryside amongst the vineyards, olive groves and fruit trees.

Day 8:              Transportation back to the airport.

Tour 6 - Gourmet Fall Tours


Fall is a great time to be in the Valdera region and in Tuscany in general. It is the period during which olives are harvested; olive oil is made, as well as being prime white truffle season. Some ideas for what you can experience during this time of the year. 

  • Visit an olive tree farm during the harvest. Then follow the olives to a historic oil mill where you will learn the process for the production of olive oil 
  • Truffle hunting for the precious white truffle 
  • Mushroom picking in the beautiful surrounding woods 
  • Lake fishing 
  • Ricotta and pecorino cheese production using ancient methods without the use of modern technology 
  • Wine tasting in a historic local winery 
  • Cooking lesson at Casa Francia covering traditional Tuscan country dishes.
